Whole Wheat Pizza Crust


  • 1 & 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 2 & 1/2 cups bread flour
  • 1/2 cup whole-wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/4 cups water


  1. Using a bread machine, dump ingredients in the bread maker pan
  2. Place the pan in the bread maker, close the lid, and select “dough”
  3. Press the Start button. Takes approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes
  4. Preheat oven to 450 °F; punch dough down
  5. Sprinkle semolina flour on a baking stone
  6. Press dough into a circle on the baking stone
  7. Form a thick ridge around the edge (to hold topping)
  8. Prick the surface of the dough thoroughly with a fork
  9. Par bake the crust for 10-15 minutes until lightly browned
  10. Add your favorite toppings and bake an additional 10-15 minutes until crust is crisp and cheese is lightly brown and bubbly through to the center
