In the Spring and Fall yard work is on the agenda. These times of year make a perfect opportunity for a late afternoon lunch or snack that requires no cooking.
Ploughman’s lunch can be assembled using the traditional ingredients (bread, crackers, stilton and cheddar cheeses, apples, pickled onions, chutney) or improvised by adding boiled eggs, mustard, smoked salmon, sausage, pears, grapes, pickles or relish, and whatever other cheese or deli meat you might have on hand.
Each bite is unto itself, and it can be served as a large sharing tray or as individual plates. This also makes a great picnic or beach lunch.
